We’re two designers who crossed paths in Bali and found an unexpected partnership. One of us is coming out of semi-retirement after more than 40 years in advertising and graphic design, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the craft. The other is just starting out, eager to create and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Our friendship and our mix of perspectives

Benjamin Wheeler
Benjamin Wheeler is a multi-disciplined, award winning, creative guru. He started his career as a graphic designer in San Francisco working for what is now Design Bridge and Partners, one of the world's top branding agencies. From there he was recruited into J. Walter Thompson, New York, the flagship of the world's oldest global ad agency, where he worked many years under James Patterson, now a famous author. He also worked as a creative director/partner at SMA in New York before opening his own shop next door. His intense branding, packaging and product development experience combined with his mass media advertising experience, and also his experience as an entrepreneur sets him apart. He can see the whole picture. Ben is an avid skier, sailor and seasoned world traveler, who makes his home in the United States in New England at his 200 year old farmhouse in Vermont, on his boat in Connecticut, and in Mill Valley, California.
Jason Martin
Jason Martin is a Bali-based graphic designer with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for design. Over the past six years, he has honed his craft through hands-on design work, blending creativity with practical solutions for a wide range of clients.
As co-founder of Martin+Wheeler, Jason brings a fresh, modern perspective that pairs seamlessly with his partner’s four decades of expertise in advertising and design. Together, they create branding, digital, and print work that fuses timeless design principles with contemporary flair.
When he’s not designing, Jason can usually be found surfing in Bali, drawing inspiration from the island’s natural beauty and dynamic culture—an influence that often weaves its way into his creative process.
